Fieldtrip to Potato Farm
(Potato Digging!)

Potato digging is a 'must' experience for Japanese elementary school children. Elementary school kids in Japan go to a farm for potato digging as their fieldtrip and part of science curriculum. We are going to go to a farm and help them dig potatoes, and bag them. This is a family event, parents can join (but do not have to).

Fee (per person) : $25 if you decide to take a bus with us
or
$5 if you decide to drive up on your own
It is about 70miles (1 hour and half) drive from Bethesda, MD.

Because many people asked to plan this trip again, we are going to have this family event on the President Day weekend.
You can choose to stay only one night or two nights.
We will have 'more time' to enjoy skiing this year.

(e.g., For a child, it can be $84 total for rental and 4 hours lift and $91 for an adult without a lesson)

*Even though the package includes a lesson, it is your choice of taking the lesson or not.
The package offers a lesson for 8 and older. HOWEVER, O-en Network will provide a lesson for children under 8.
We can also offer lessons in Japanese provided by O-en Network for everyone with no additional cost.
